Walking Trails of the World publishes walking guides with the subtitle “These books are made for Walking”.
The goal is to provide you with all the information you need for a comfortable walk and are not designed to end up in your book shelf.
The walks are situated in Europe with the ambition to expand to more continents. The walks are about 200 kilometer long and on average will take about 2 weeks to finish. This is done so the walks fit in a 3 week holiday with time to get to the walk, have a few days of rest and do the walk.
The walks will give you a good impression of a part of a country, its special features, culture, nature and some of its history. However, they are not designed as a tourist trip and actually avoid some of the tourist traps.
Some walks are level but some go through hilly countryside. In general the walks stay below 1200 meter. This so you can enjoy the walking, have a lot of physical activity but without the burden of real mountaineering.
Information is given on the available accommodation along the way, distances, climate, public transport and advise on what to take. The accommodation list is updated every few years.
The guides are printed on demand, on water-resistant paper and are bound with a metal binding for easy use during the walk.
